Ever since his introduction into the world of telecommunication and information technology, Khaled Bichara has been a professional focused on the firm path of achievement.

In 2000, Khaled Bichara was made the Chief Internet Strategist of Orascom Telecom Holdings. In 2003, Khaled Bichara became a member of the board of directors. In 2009, Khaled Bichara was appointed the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.

Khaled Bichara began his exploration of the world of computer science and engineering with his degree at the American University in Cairo. With a major in computer science and a minor in business administration, the stage seemed set for his involvement in both fields. In the years following that, Khaled Bichara expanded his knowledge by attending a few other notable institutions. Khaled Bichara attended a number of the postgraduate professional courses some of which includes Stanford’s EPCG (Executive Program for Growing Companies) and the “Money Markets & Investments Valuation” program at the Institute of Banking and Finance.

Khaled Bichara’s growing knowledge in the affairs of business led him to lead his co-founded company LINKdotNET into a huge sphere of success. Khaled Bichara‘s structuring and focus allowed the company (LDN) to grow to become the largest internet Service Provider in the Middle East. Khaled Bichara also led the negotiations and agreements with Microsoft which resulted in a vital partnership between both companies. One of the results of this partnership was the creation of the first Middle East portal, a move which allowed individuals in the area to experience a better feel of the internet. This was culminated with the launch of MSN Arabia.

In 2003, Khaled Bichara was awarded the “Young Executive of the Year” a distinguished recognition given to individuals below the age of 40 who have recorded outstanding results in their respective fields.
As the Group Chief operating Officer in Orascom Telecom Holding, Mr Khaled Bichara was charged with leading the various departments of the company some of which includes the Technical, Commercial and Marketing, Communications and IT departments.

Alongside his current position, Khaled Bichara seats on the board of several other IT and Telecom companies. Khaled Bichara is the CEO of Weathers investments S.P.A as well as a board member of Wind Telecommunicazio in Italy.

Khaled Bichara‘s commitment to the growth of information technology in the region has seen him participate in numerous groups. He is credited as being a founding member of the internet Society of Egypt as well as the Egyptian Software Association. Khaled Bichara is also a known active member of the Software Community in the Middle East. Khaled Bichara is a member of the advisory board at the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the American University in Cairo from which he earned his degree.

In 15 years, Khaled Bichara has achieved more than what many of his peers have. Khaled Bichara is happily married and the proud father of two children.

As the Vice President of LDN explains it. “A big part of the success story is Khaled Bichara himself. He (Khaled Bichara) is someone with a very clear vision.”
