Khaled Bichara is the current Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Orascom Telecom Holding. Khaled Bichara’s appointment was announced in November 2009 and came 7 months after his promotion to Chief Operations officer by the same company.

Orascom Telecom Holding is globally recognized as the largest provider of mobile telecommunication services in the Middle East and Africa. They provide similar services in Europe and North America. They are also the largest GSM operator and provider in Pakistan. With more than 15 years of experience in the field of information technology. It is believed that Khaled Bichara’s new position will lead the company into even greater heights of success and technological advancements.

Khaled Bichara has been responsible for many significant evolution and growth in the world of information technology and communication. In 2005, Khaled Bichara was vital to the resurgence of the Italian telecommunication company Wind Telecomunicazioni S.p.A. Khaled Bichara achieved this in less than four years. Under his leadership, first as the head of the Fixed and Portal Business Unit of the company and then as its Chief Operations Officer, Khaled Bichara was able to improve the sale profit and efficiency of Wind Telecomunicazioni S.p.A by restructuring the company’s organization.

Khaled Bichara is also the cofounder and chairman of LINKdotNET (LDN) ( a company which Khaled Bichara formed after Microlabs). With origins in Egypt, LDN is the largest private Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the Middle East. LDN has been associated with many important agreements of partnership with other companies. In 2000, four years after the launch of the company, Khaled Bichara acquired LINK Egypt and InTouch Communications. LDN was also at the heart of a partnership agreement with Microsoft which resulted in the development of the very first web portal in the Middle East. MSN Arabia was one of the outcomes of this development. In 2002, Khaled Bichara also acquired 9 other leading internet companies with head offices in Egypt.

Under the leadership of Khaled Bichara LINKdotNET has received numerous awards including the prestigious Microsoft Gold Certified Partner award.

Khaled Bichara graduated from the American University in Cairo. Khaled Bichara’s minor was in Business administration whilst his major was in computer science. Alongside these, Khaled Bichara attended several postgraduate in various institutions around the world including Stanford.

Khaled Bichara is a member of the advisory board of the Computer Science Department at the American University in Cairo from which he graduated. Khaled Bichara is as well a member of many associations within his native country. Some of these include the Egyptian Software Association of which Khaled Bichara is a founding member, the Egyptian Electronic Commerce committee and the Internet Society of Egypt. Khaled Bichara is also a member of the Software community found in the Middle East.

At the age of 32, in recognition of his achievements, Khaled Bichara was awarded the “Young Executive of the year Award” by Business Today Egypt. The award was designed to be given to individuals below the age of 40 who had excelled admirably in the world of business and finance.
