The current Group Chief Executive Officer of Orascom Telecom Holdings (OTH) S.A.E is Mr. Khaled Bichara. A graduate of the American University, Mr. Khaled Bichara is widely recognized in the Europe, the Middle East and beyond for his commendable achievements in the field of telecommunication and information technology.
Khaled Bichara first shot to the attention of the public with his bold but hugely successful company LINKdotNET (LDN). Currently considered to be the largest private internet service provider in the Middle East, LDN did not start out that way. However, under the smart leadership of the Khaled Bichara who is the Co-founder and CEO of the company, LDN was able to rapidly grow to become a recognized leader in Internet services.

One of Khaled Bichara’s notable achievements is the partnering of LDN with Microsoft for the successful launching of MSN Arabia. The first of its kind in the region, the web portal provided users in the Middle East with an even better experience of the internet and its features. The drive and commitment of Mr. Khaled Bichara played a huge part in this.
As the vice president of LINKdotNET, Ramy Abdallah puts it “A big part of the success story (LDN) is Khaled Bichara a himself. He (Khaled Bichara) is someone with a very clear vision”
In the years following the growth of LDN, Mr Khaled Bichara became involved in the successful growth of some other telecommunication companies. For example, Khaled Bichara was given the task of leading the portable and fixed line unit at the company Wind Telecomuncazioni. Khaled Bichara was eventually promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). One of the reasons behind Khaled Bichara’s rapid rise in the company was his important role the conversion of the company’s losses to success.
Under Khaled Bichara’s guidance, Wind Telecomuncazioni grew to become one of the biggest and most efficient fixed line, broadband and mobile integrated operators in the continent. It also grew to become the third largest telecommunication company in Italy.
At the close of 2003 Mr. Khaled Bichara was recognized by the Business Today (Egypt) as being the “Young Executive of the year”. This honor is yearly presented to executive younger than 40 who have more than proven themselves in their respective fields. In the same year, Khaled Bichara would also join the board of directors at Orascom Telecom.
Orascom Telecom Holding is the largest provider of GSM services in Africa and the Middle East. It is also a provider in North America, Europe and Asia.
Alongside his current position, Mr. Khaled Bichara actively supports the growth of information technology and telecommunication in Egypt and the region in general.
Khaled Bichara is a credited founding member of the Egyptian Software Association and actively participates in its events. Khaled Bichara is also responsible for the formation of the Internet Society of Egypt and belongs to the Egyptian Electronic Commerce Committee. Khaled Bichara is an active participator in the Software community found in the Middle East.
Mr. Khaled Bichara was born in 1971. He is happily married and the proud father of two children.
